Job Details
We are seeking a highly experiencedCA Gen Migration Architect / Lead Engineerwith strong hands-on expertise inCA Gen (Broadcom Gen / COOL), COBOL, and legacy application modernization. The ideal candidate will have experience working with CA Gen-generated COBOL applications and successfully migrating legacy mainframe applications to modern distributed or cloud-based architectures.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide senior-level technical leadership for applications developed usingCA Gen / Broadcom Gen / COOL.
• Analyze existingCA Gen runtime frameworks, application models, and generated code.
• Work with CA Gen model internals and understand how models translate intogenerated COBOL applications.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and supportCA Gen-generated COBOL code.
• Define and execute migration strategies for legacy CA Gen applications.
• Assess application architecture, dependencies, business logic, interfaces, and migration risks.
• Support modernization and re-platforming of legacyCOBOL/mainframe applications.
• Partner with engineering, architecture, and development teams throughout the modernization lifecycle.
• Provide technical guidance on migration design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
• Identify opportunities to transition legacy applications tomodern distributed or cloud-based architectures.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of hands-on CA Gen experience.
• Strong experience withCA Gen / Broadcom Gen / COOL.
• Deep understanding of theCA Gen runtime framework and model internals.
• Strong ability to analyze and work withCA Gen-generated COBOL code.
• Demonstrated experience with at least one successfulCA Gen migration or modernization initiative.
• 5+ years of COBOL development experience.
• Strong understanding oflegacy/mainframe application architecture.
• Experience with application modernization, migration, re-platforming, or transformation initiatives.
• Senior-level experience as anEngineer, Lead Engineer, or Architect.
• Strong troubleshooting, technical analysis, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have
• Experience withJava.
