Systems Engineer – Network Operations & Monitoring

Summary:

Experienced Systems Engineer within the Network Operations Team, with a strong focus on application and infrastructure monitoring, as well as expertise in network and voice technologies. Actively involved in engineering and operational aspects of enterprise monitoring solutions, with a proven track record in time-bound, cross-functional projects, including return-to-office initiatives and disaster recovery planning.

 

Key Responsibilities & Projects:

 

• Monitoring Solutions:

o Managing end-to-end implementation and optimization of ThousandEyes (Endpoint Agent & Point Agent) and SolarWinds for proactive application and network monitoring.

o Developing and tuning alert policies, thresholds, and in-office population monitoring for increased visibility into user experience.

o Running pilot programs for Thousand Eyes deployment by September, followed by evaluations and retests for scale deployment.

 Network & Voice Expertise:

o Working across network and voice domains to ensure seamless connectivity and performance.

o Supporting hybrid infrastructure with a focus on redundancy, uptime, and real-time issue detection.

 Operational Engineering:

o Bridging operations and engineering by setting up monitoring frameworks, refining policy configurations, and improving alerting mechanisms.

o Engaging in disaster recovery support, emphasizing failover testing, redundancy validation, and operational continuity.

 Project Work:

o Contributing to strategic projects like the Return to Office initiative, ensuring robust network and application performance for on-site employees.

 Skills & Tools:

• Monitoring: ThousandEyes (Endpoint & Point Agents), SolarWinds

• Networking: Routing/Switching, VoIP, WAN/LAN

• Disaster Recovery, Redundancy Planning

• Alerting Policies & Incident Response

• Application Performance & Network Visibility

Certifications:

Any of the below 2 certification Preferred.

CCNA, CCNP, Cisco Certified DevNet Associate, Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate,

Cisco Certified Specialist in Enterprise Network Core Technologies.
