Role Summary:
The SAP S/4HANA Solution Architect is a highly skilled professional with strong SAP leadership abilities. They evaluate business requirements and design integrated solutions for SAP customers, aligning and orchestrating company business processes with SAP S/4HANA capabilities. They play a crucial role in leading technical discussions, translating complex SAP concepts for non-technical stakeholders, and guiding clients through project scoping and delivery to ensure successful implementation. With a unique combination of business process understanding and technical expertise, the Solution Architect acts as a liaison between functional consultants, business analysts, and technical teams, and is involved in multiple stages of implementation, from design to post-go-live support.
Expertise in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) is critical for this role, particularly in supporting Order-to-Cash processes, pricing, billing, and customer master data integration with other SAP modules.
Role Responsibilities:
Define Strategic SAP Vision and Roadmaps
- Partner with business functions to manage existing product plans, develop new plans, and ensure alignment with the overall SAP S4/HANA ERP environment.
- Provide direction, guidance, and motivation to Product and Capability Teams, ensuring collaboration and alignment with business partners.
- Possess a thorough understanding of supported business functional areas, including goals, opportunities, and competitive challenges. Deep experience with Sales and Distribution (SD) functions, including pricing strategies, delivery processing, and sales order management.
- Drive innovative technical business solutions by leading the team in business process engineering and alignment with the SAP solution set, including Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes and SD integration points.
Design, Configuration, and Implementation
- Assess business requirements, including non-functional constraints, to design, configure, and implement end-to-end SAP S/4HANA solutions that meet business needs.
- Lead SD-specific process design sessions including sales order management, shipping, invoicing, and credit management.
- Ensure architecture is scalable, sustainable, and integrates seamlessly with other systems and SAP modules, particularly SD with FI, MM, and LE.
- Define and oversee custom developments when standard configurations in SD are insufficient.
- Define data models, workflows, and automation in areas such as sales order creation, pricing conditions, and billing.
- Develop implementation plans and provide leadership and oversight for SD-related deliverables.
Technical Expertise
- Lead the technical vision for SAP implementation.
- Possess a deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA and its platform capabilities, especially in Sales and Distribution (SD).
- Configure SD module to meet specific sales business needs, including condition technique, output determination, and partner functions.
- Define integration points between SD and other SAP modules such as FI (for billing and AR), MM (for availability checks), and LE (for delivery and shipment).
- Be familiar with SAP Fiori apps specific to SD processes, as well as NetWeaver and ABAP for enhancements.
BPO – CI
- Stay current with the SAP S/4HANA roadmap, especially upcoming changes to SD functionalities and O2C innovations.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into SD solutions using standard S/4HANA functionalities.
- Optimize sales-related business processes by leveraging S/4HANA SD best practices.
- Recommend and implement SD process improvements in line with business growth strategies.
Communications
- Translate technical SD configurations and functionality into business-friendly language for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially those involved in sales operations, order management, and customer service.
Performance Management & Leadership
- Provide SAP SD expertise and guidance to functional and capability teams.
- Support the mentoring and development of SAP SD consultants and cross-functional team members.
- Recommend and contribute to SD resource planning in SAP project teams.
